Our Policies
Dog Policy
We love dogs and welcome them to our self-catering holiday cottages but we do have strict rules for the safety and comfort of all our guests. If you would like to bring your dog(s) you must advise us at the time of booking. When you confirm your booking and pay your deposit we will ask you to return a signed copy of our Dog Policy to confirm that you understand and agree with the terms and conditions we have set out. We allow one dog in Walkmill Lodge and two in Walkmill House.
Whilst most people are comfortable with dogs, some are not used to them and children can be scared therefore all dogs must be kept on a lead whilst on the grounds of The Walkmill. You must clean up after your dog. We supply small bags for this purpose these must be disposed of in the outdoor black bins only.
You must not leave dogs on their own in your holiday cottages—a strange place can be stressful for the dog who might cause damage (for which we might have to charge) and disturbance to other guests. You must keep your dogs downstairs during your stay, and off furniture, bedspreads and bed linen for hygiene reasons. We make a small charge of £20 per dog per week (or part of). We can provide bedding for your pooch by prior arrangement.
Smoking
We do not permit smoking in our holiday cottages or on the site - to be clear smoking is not permitted on the patio or in the gardens/grounds. Please do not book our holiday cottages if this is going to spoil your holiday. If we find that guests have smoked in our holiday cottages we may refuse to refund the security deposit (but I’m hoping it will never come to that!).
Security Deposit
We require a refundable Security Deposit of £200 which covers the costs of breakages/damage and the cost of excess cleaning should it be necessary. If all is in order on your departure this deposit will be refunded to you. This payment is due with your balance 4 weeks prior to your arrival.
Check-in and Check-out
Changeover day is Saturday for Walkmill House and Thursday for Walkmill Lodge.
Check-in is after 3pm on the day of your arrival and check-out is by 10am on your day of departure.
