Walkmill Lodge
Walkmill Lodge is a detached luxury self-catering holiday cottage set in rural Shropshire, perfectly located for visiting Bishops Castle, Ludlow and Shrewsbury. Walkmill Lodge was previously a stone outbuilding which was converted to an artist studio over twenty years ago. Gilly & Brian have extended and refurbished Walkmill Lodge to the highest standards, retaining many original features. Walkmill Lodge has a large, secure patio overlooking open fields to the rear of the property, making it perfect for guests with children or dogs.
You enter Walkmill Lodge into a spacious kitchen equipped with oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen area has a table which can comfortably seat 6. The kitchen/diner opens into a large sitting room with log burner. Double doors open from the lounge to a large secure private patio to the rear of the property. In time Gilly & Brian intend to put a hot tub in this area.
Leaving the kitchen you enter a corridor with a door to the left which opens into a double bedroom with en-suite toilet and luxury double shower with fixed rainfall shower head.
Further along the corridor is the master bedroom with twin beds and luxury en-suite bathroom with roll-top slipper bath, toilet and sink. The master bedroom has double doors which open to a private patio area – a wonderful place to enjoy morning coffee.
Walkmill Lodge is all on one level so a great option for the less mobile or families with young children. Walkmill Lodge sleeps 4 (one double and two twin bedrooms) there is also a sofa bed available in the sitting room for additional flexibility.
Luxury Egyptian cotton linen, Christy towels and toiletries are provided.
Each holiday cottage has its own private garden however guests are welcome to enjoy the grounds, collect apples from the orchard, pick blackberries, enjoy a riverside picnic or simply to marvel at the wonderful views of the Shropshire Hills. Or enjoy watching the Spring Lambs!
Walkmill Lodge is a perfect choice for a luxury self-catering holiday at any time of the year. Over Christmas and New Year the cottage looks stunning with its seasonal decorations.
Please note that the East Onny River runs through The Walkmill therefore children are not permitted to roam the site unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
